Abbey install complete wire binding range

Abbey Bookbinding, based in Cardiff (UK) have just installed a complete range of wire binding equipment from Binding Store.
The Renz systems purchased from Binding store include an AP 360 automatic punch, 2 RSB 360 semi automatic binding machines and a DTP-340A semi automatic desk top punch to add to their portfolio of binding equipment and services.
Darren Cottrell, Production Manager commented ‘ We are very pleased with such a prompt efficient professional service from Binding Store. The speed of delivery and quality of binding equipment was second to none. Adding these machines to our site opens up additional trade services to the print and design industry. Besides case binding and perfect binding, we can now offer a complete trade wire bind service specialising in the production of short/medium size production runs. Quantities can now range from 1 – 50k.
The changeover time is very quick, even when changing the pitch from 2:1 to 3:1 it’s a matter of just a few minutes and the next job is running. This is one big advantage that the Renz AP-360 has over the competition. We chose the option of the paternoster feeder, allowing continuous paper feeding and pre loading of stock.
The Renz RSB-360 semi automatic bookbinding machine compliments the automatic punch with the ability to insert the wire from a spool at speeds of up to 1300 books per hour. This gives us the ability to turn around jobs very quickly.
Both models offer the highest level of wire binding with a comparatively small footprint but without the higher level of investment required for a large in-line model.
A semi automatic Renz DTP-340A punch was also bought for its versatility and rapid die change ability, Ideal for shorter run lengths or stocks that can not be automatically processed.
Binding Store, which has been trading for 5 years, offers equipment for wire binding, laminating, shredding and print finishing and Cunningham added that the company is equally at home with supplying small manual machines for use in the office environment up to large bindery systems that require high levels of automation.
